I knew in describing The Birth to people that including the sentence, “And there is some dancing in it too” would be a hard sell. But not only did I design the show and can put whatever I want in it, I also know most people haven’t seen Kate, my sister, dance.
I know more than anyone else that it’s a risky ‘marketing’ move, blending artistic mediums into one theatrical event like we are - but I also know that once Kate opens the show with a dance to the song ‘Mary’s Waltz’ by Over the Rhine, you’ll realize just how indispensable an addition she is as well.
